Built on the bench, not in a boardroom
I was fortunate. The coaches I grew up with didn't just teach me hockey — they taught me how to perform like a champion: discipline, commitment, hard work, resiliency, drive, and the desire to win. Those fundamentals shaped my life long after I left the ice, and for the past ten years I've poured them back into the kids I coach.
But I also learned how much of coaching gets lost in the logistics. I spent those years tirelessly trying to optimize everything I did as a coach — and kept hitting the same wall: the work of developing players was buried under spreadsheets, group texts, and scattered files that never talked to each other.
My goal has never been the paperwork. It's to give every coach — whether they've spent a lifetime in hockey or are stepping on the bench for the very first time — a runway to become a high-performance coach. Because when coaches get better, the kids and the game get better.
HTX Hockey is that runway: one connected system, built by someone who's actually run the practices, filled out the game card between whistles, and driven through the night to a weekend tournament. It's how I give back — and we're just getting started.
